Q: Do I need to provide a Trust Deed for my Super Fund to my SMSF Auditor?

A: Yes, your SMSF Auditor requires a copy of your trust deed for their file which explains many aspects of how the Super Fund is being maintained and has key data like when the fund commenced and confirms who the trustee is. If you have already dealt with us before provided previously and there no changes on Deed you are not required to provide us again.

Q: Do I need to complete an ATO Trustee Declaration Form as a Trustee of the Super Fund?

A: Yes, you are required to complete and sign an ATO Trustee Declaration Form if your SMSF was established after 1 July 2007.

Q: Do I need to provide an ASIC search for the company if I have a corporate trustee for my SMSF?

A: Yes, you can provide a copy of the ASIC search ideally recent ASIC renewal notice for your corporate trustee to confirm the directors of the corporate trustee, if this is not provided then it will be done by your SMSF Auditor and there will be a charge for this which will be added to your fee.

Q: Is it necessary to have valuations and to complete a Statutory Declaration for collectibles that the SMSF has purchased?

A: Yes, we require an independent valuation of the collectibles that are contained within the Super Fund and a Statutory Declaration which confirms that they are not being privately used and that they are stored appropriately.

Q: Do all assets need to be at market value?

A: For the 2013 financial year and beyond all funds are required to value assets at market value, and the auditor must have market evidence to support their sign off. Valuations, appraisals or prices of asset sales of similar assets can support your funds asset value.
